Our collaboration with Nespresso Mexico stems from a shared vision: to fuse design, culture and sustainability to transform the coffee experience into something more profound. Through different projects, we explore materials, forms and meanings to give new life to the brand's iconic elements, from aluminum capsules to everyday coffee rituals.

Each intervention reflects our commitment to innovation and purposeful design, creating pieces that not only beautify spaces, but also tell stories, generate awareness and celebrate Mexican identity.

ecopoxi

2021

This project for Nespresso Mexico reflects a commitment to sustainability and reuse. Inspired by the phrase #accionesquelodicentodo, the proposal focuses on transforming the materials that make up a Nespresso capsule -aluminum and coffee- into artistic pieces that embody the idea of recycling by giving them a new life.

WHAT IS IT?

An installation created for the showcases of Nespresso boutiques in CDMX, Guadalajara and Monterrey. The pieces are made using recycled ground coffee and aluminum recovered from used capsules, demonstrating how these materials can be reimagined in a functional and aesthetic way.

WHAT IS IT FOR?

The project seeks to raise awareness about the importance of recycling and the positive impact of small, everyday actions. In addition to beautifying spaces, the pieces act as a symbol of Nespresso's commitment to sustainability and innovation.

HOW WAS IT MADE?

The aluminum from the capsules was recovered and melted down at the recycling plant in Querétaro, giving it a new use. On the other hand, the ground coffee was mixed with a sustainable material created in collaboration with Ecopoxy Latam, a natural resin that gave structure and durability to the coffee, while respecting its organic essence. This process combines artisanal and industrial design techniques, turning waste into a work of responsible design.

These pieces not only represent an innovative approach to recycling, but also a call to reflect on our impact on the planet. Actions that say it all, a project that unites art, design and sustainability.

LOCAL TOUCH

Mitikah Shopping Mall

2022

The Local Touch piece is inspired by the bugambilia tree, a Mexican symbol that represents elegance, tradition and color. This tree, characterized by its vibrant flowering, reflects the spirit of Mexican culture and is a tribute to the natural beauty of the country. Through this intervention, we sought to bring a unique and authentic touch to the Nespresso boutique in Mítikah, creating an emotional connection with visitors through a work that not only decorates, but tells a rich cultural story.

WHAT IS IT?

An artistic intervention in the Nespresso store in the Mítikah mall, where the bougainvillea tree is transformed into a sculpture made of recycled aluminum casting. This piece represents the fusion of nature and design, combining tradition with a contemporary and sustainable approach.

WHAT IS IT FOR?

The objective of this intervention is to create a unique visual experience within the store space, inviting customers to connect with the Mexican essence while enjoying a good cup of coffee. It also highlights Nespresso's commitment to sustainability by using recycled materials, fusing the aesthetics of the bugambilia tree with the responsible approach that characterizes the brand.

HOW IT WAS MADE?

The sculpture was made from recycled aluminum, a material that is not only durable, but also reinforces Nespresso's commitment to sustainability. The creation process was a collaborative work, where the Nespresso team and I shared ideas and values that reflect our respect for the environment. The piece was integrated organically into the boutique space, creating an atmosphere that invites reflection and enjoyment of the details that make this place unique. This project is the result of a journey of learning and collaboration, a manifestation of teamwork and passion for transforming ideas into unique visual experiences.

CAPSULE DISPENSER

2024

The capsule dispenser design stems from a connection between the everyday and the traditional. Inspired by Mexican molcajetes, coffee beans and wicker baskets, the piece celebrates the cultural richness of Mexico while translating it into a modern and functional form. This dialogue between past and present seeks to enrich the coffee experience, inviting users to reflect on the objects that are part of their daily lives.

WHAT IS IT?

A coffee capsule dispenser designed by Rodrigo Noriega Studio, made from 100% recycled aluminum. It combines design, functionality and sustainability to offer a practical and decorative solution for the storage of coffee capsules.

WHAT IS IT FOR?

Designed for coffee lovers, the dispenser not only organizes and presents capsules in an elegant way, but also functions as a decorative object that complements any space. It's a way to make the coffee ritual a more aesthetic and thoughtful experience.

HOW IS IT MADE?

The manufacturing of the dispenser includes a process of casting recycled aluminum, followed by polishing techniques to achieve a flawless finish. The texture and details of the piece evoke the patterns of wicker baskets and the shapes of coffee beans, while its sturdy structure pays homage to Mexican molcajetes, all with a focus on durability and sustainability.
